Can an Ultrasound Miss Twins at 20 Weeks

Just out of marvel I'm wondering if anyone has ever, recently, found out they were having twins subsequently than 20 weeks. Some of my friend think they see ii babies in a contempo ultrasound of mine. It never actually crossed my mind, simply I was extremely sick this time and take had twin dreams so it got me wondering.

Hi hun do u accept a picture u can mail service? I'm having twins and mine were spotted from 7 weeks. When they browse yous they practice a thorough search of your uterus and so it's unlikely they would miss a 2d babe if it was in another sack. Notwithstanding if they were identical in aforementioned sack and one was hiding backside the other... Stranger things have happened!! Maybe requite your midwife a call an ask her to take take a await at the scan or call the hospital or clinic who did the browse an ask the consult to have a quick review for u 20

I think it's very unlikely, peculiarly by 20 weeks when the babe/babe'south are quite big and fully formed. These sonographers know what they're looking at ;-)
I had twins final time and it was very obvious at 12 weeks that there were two, even to my untrained scanning optics!

That looks similar HER feet to me. The parts of the legs that the square is drawn around, wait like just her femurs (you can see one continuous os inside them, non two different parts like whole legs). I would say those are her femurs within the square, and so you can't see the bottom one-half of the legs because of the angle, merely you can and so see the feet (what is drawn effectually equally '2d legs?') at the bottom of them..? That'south a really weird angle though if that is her caput at the bottom..! Was that the simply picture you got?

Ya information technology seemed like that head shouldn't match with the very visible set of legs, it seemed too contorted, I only take 1 more picture show that looks virtually the same. I'll postal service it.

I'd say information technology was highly unlikely as they don't just check the baby, they bank check the placenta, cervix, ovaries and uterus to brand sure they are all looking healthy. I don't know how they could miss some other baby whilst checking that. Although I estimate anything is possible.

Ahh, I was wondering how it could exist babies float but I hold, it doesn't expect like a caput and I think it's your bladder. I don't know how to translate the picture but judging past the tiny details they pick upwards on a 20 calendar week browse I find it hard to believe they could miss another infant, unless y'all had a funny shaped uterus or something.

I'm really confused by your picture! Information technology looks like the 2nd legs bit is Lo's feet probably, but the fleck they've said is caput really looks like your float, I can't see how information technology could mayhap be LO'due south head! Anyhow non much employ as I haven't hear of a twin being missed at the 20 week scan, but annihilation is possible. Do y'all have anther scan coming up?

I was just going to say are you certain that's not your float - information technology seems like it's in the completely wrong place and bending to be LO's caput if they're looking upwardly at the bum/genitals from underneath like that. I don't think the doc/sonographer labelled the picture, I think she/someone else did (correct me if I'm wrong!)

I think the 'second legs' are the anxiety.. And the 'caput' could be your bladder or just an empty hulk of fluid, cyst, annihilation.. If information technology was a head yous'd see the brain inside? I but had a scan today could see brain. I'd ask them to clarify or get a individual scan though, information technology is a funny film but I reckon highly unlikely they've missed a twin at that phase. Never know though!

I think information technology is totally incommunicable that a second infant would exist missed at a scan. They would detect the second heartbeat and your uterus just isn't that big that they would miss it.

No no I labeled it. When she was going through she said it was babies head but maybe she took the picture show in a different view and I wasn't paying attention. I never idea about it being my bladder, that would make way more since and makes me feel better. I am high risk so the last thing I need is twins because I don't know if my body could deport them to a viable gestation. Thats why I was worried. thanks for the reassurance. Aye I go for another scan on Tuesday.
